the differences between the different types of reach:
- Post reach is the total number of people who saw a particular Facebook post from your Page in their Facebook newsfeed;
- Page reach is how many people had any of your content enter their feed.
Paid reach is the number of people who had a paid post from your Page enter their screen.
Organic reach is the number of people who had an unpaid post from your Page enter their screen. Organic reach is the type of reach that is the hardest to earn.
As a result, your content strategy should integrate a combination of the following:
- Videos, images, memes or infographics that don’t link out anywhere
- Questions and discussions among your followers
- Requests for followers to share their experiences, photos and so on
Tips
Facebook found that users prefer clicking updates that share URLs using a link preview, rather than by slipping them into the captions of image posts – so link previews get better reach.
Organic reach can be broken down into viral and nonviral:
Viral: The number of people who had any content from your Page or about your Page enter their screen because their friend likes or follows your Page, engages with a post, shares a photo of your Page and checks into your Page. Viral reach consists of the people who saw your content thanks to a third person, as opposed to directly through your Page.
Nonviral: The number of people who had any content from your Page enter their screen. This doesn't include when someone's friend likes or follows your Page, engages with a post, shares a photo of your Page and checks into your Page.
Besides, you should know where whether or not a post appears in someone's newsfeed depends on three ranking signals that are based on a user's past behavior:
- who a user typically interacts with.
- the type of media in the post.
- the popularity of the post.
Tips
Pages that post at least three times a day get very high page reach metrics and much more brand awareness than pages that only post once a day or fewer.
